About me pages are so awkward.
Anyway. I’m Katie. I live in Brooklyn (via Illinois), and I like used bookstores, passport stamps, and banh mi, all of which are things you’ll find here on this blog. You’ll find plenty else on this blog; it’s not really a “theme” blog.
I started Perky to a Fault in 2006, but I didn’t start consistently maintaining it until September 2009 – and then I stopped again in 2012 because, well, that was really just the worst year ever. In case you’re wondering, the title came about after a mock interview I had during law school. The mock interviewer began her critique of me by saying, “I’ve never had to tell anyone this, but you smile too much.” I don’t know about you, but I kind of figure that’s a good problem to have.

I like the new format
Yay! Thanks.
Hi! Just dropped by, skimming several blogs online. Law and literature sounds like difficult, yet very interesting blend for me. Can you invoke some Plath or Angela Carter or Coleridge while defending your client on court? Perhaps that would stun and eventually distract your opponent. Or perhaps I was on the wrong track, you are not yet a practicing lawyer? I say too much I need to clear them first. But hi! And hope to read more of your blog.
